Very solidly built; light enough, easy to use. Not really optimized for throwing or splitting, but the head is a balanced width, neither too thick or too narrow. The weight feels about like a framing hammer and they work really well for limbing small pines and carving steaks from green wood. So far the edge has held pretty well on the one I’ve been using a lot.

Exactly what I wanted for the man cave. These weigh exactly 27 ounces (1lb 11oz). The quality is there for sure. Sharpening bevel is actually straight. Has a splint AND a metal dowel holding the head. Nice wooden contoured handle. Definitely a good buy for the money
