This neat looking little hatchet has outperformed expectations. It came sharp out of the box. Not razor sharp, mind you, but working sharp. Exactly what you want in a tool to… idk… split and cut WOOD. It’s comfortable to hold in my hands (size XL gloves) and use for a reasonable amount of time. I’m not building a cabin with this thing, I’m getting some small firewood ready. The weight-forward head lends to easy chopping. Overall the hatchet is well-built, the head has stayed tight through (maybe?) 15 hours of use. I carry this in a small messenger bag for day hikes, and absolutely love it.

Arrived on time as described! Looked great and leather sheath great quality. It came dull like. Had to put edge on it. Once sharpened it easily cut thru and trimmed up green wood for carving.

It’s a cheaper axe, but is has a great profile (not the bevel) for a carving axe, and the handle feels great. I have not had any issue with looseness of the handle. I reground the bevels with a file to get a flat profile to use this as a spoon carving axe. I don’t own a more expensive axe, so I can’t speak to the quality of the edge retention but it has worked for spoons!
